property-report.com Introduces New Features

January 30, 2009 by Emma Sorensen · Leave a Comment

Asian property portal property-report.com has been working hard to improve its look, feel and functionality. With the portal claiming an increase in web traffic over the new year, these changes already seem to have paid off.

The English language portal covers Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and China, and aims itself at wealthy buyers.

In mid-2008 property-report.com was redesigned, allowing easier access to the large archives of country-related news and content.

“The top navigation bar allows users to go to their area of interest with just one click. And using Google Analytics, we can see which country sections are most popular. This will allow us to offer more user-specific advertising, which is an innovation we are working on now and will be launched very soon,” said Duncan Worthington, Managing Director of Ensign Media Co. Ltd, owners of the web site.

In December 2008 a new, cleaner property listing module was launched.

“We commissioned a customised property listing module for the site. It is designed to be simple to use and provides the required information a buyer needs. Using ´shopping basket´ technology, the user can add a selection of properties to their basket to view later, or then ´cash out´ and inquiries will automatically be sent to each respective vendor accordingly,” commented Worthington.

Following a month of testing, in January 2009 the company launched their Automated Agent Programme, a fully integrated software solution to automatically add all of an agent’s property listings to property-report.com and update any changes in real time.

Properties from New Zealand have recently been added and the company says an agent in Australia will soon go live with over 3,000 properties.

“Despite the global economic downturn, property-report.com traffic has remained consistent, with December and January showing an increase in the number of unique visitors, and an increase in the time each visitor spends on the site. property-report.com is 100% about property. Site visitors are therefore interested in property and ´pre-qualified´, and we can see more and more people are using the property search to find their second home, retirement home or investment property in Asia. This bodes well for the future of Asian real estate,” said Worthington.

The portal’s owners, Ensign Media, are based in Bangkok, and also produce the print news magazines. Property Report Thailand circulates with 20,000 copies monthly while Property Report Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia circulate around 10,000 copies monthly.

iproperty.com.my No. 1 in Malaysia

January 14, 2009 by Emma Sorensen · 5 Comments

iproperty.com.my, the Malaysian offering of the iproperty.com Group portals, has been declared the country’s top property portal by Google Ad Planner.

A statement released by the iproperty.com Group says that iproperty.com.my leads the pack in Malaysia with over 300% more unique visitors and 1750% more page views than its closest competitor.

Google Ad Planner is a research and media planning tool, which provides advertisers with a method of measuring their media audience and return on investment (ROI). The company says that Google Ad Planner’s acknowledgment follows similar confirmations by ComScore, Frost & Sullivan and alexa.com ranking the site as the country’s leading property portal.

Executive Chairman of IPGA Limited, Patrick Grove says: “iproperty.com Malaysia remains the leading real estate website for consumers because we deliver the freshest, largest and most comprehensive online collection of listings, on top of a host of good quality services. This is a notable achievement, especially within the competitive environment in which our portal operates in.”

Grove believes that the recognition reinforces the Internet’s power as an increasingly preferred medium for property hunters. “We are very grateful and would like to thank our users, both clients and consumers, for their votes of confidence in our content and services through their traffic counts which have made us the No. 1 property portal in Malaysia,” he says.

iproperty.com’s latest new site enhancements include the SMS Enquiry, Listing Search Algorithm and Search by Map.

The company also recently launched iluxuryasia.com property website and glossy magazine.

The iproperty.com Group is owned by IPGA Limited, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange as IPP. The Company currently operates consumer and business online property portals in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and the Philippines. With further expansion planned, IPGA is continuously working to capitalise on its market-leading positions and the rapidly growing online property advertising market throughout the region.

Recently, the Group won the CNBC Asia Pacific Property Awards in the “Best Property Portal” category for 4 of its websites: iproperty.com.my, iproperty.com.sg, gohome.com.hk and iproperty.com.ph.
