January 15, 2009 by Emma Sorensen · 2 Comments

US listings and property information website frontdoor.com has launched a range of city guides.
Users can explore over 21 US cities online with a range of statistics and demographics, articles, user-generated reviews, neighbourhood information, interactive maps, images and videos. Cities featured on the homepage currently include Sonoma, CA, and New York, NY.
frontdoor.com has over 3.5 million property listings. It is owned by the Scripps Networks Digital media group which means it is also affiliated with the popular real estate and home cable TV network and website, HGTV. This opens the door to a wide range of video content for the portal.
The portal’s vice president and site director, Rich Lacy, was quoted on Inman News as saying the guides were the very first stages of a larger project, which may end up with 28,000 local areas covered. The information is firmly rooted from the perspective of the resident – with a heavy focus on consumer reviews – and will tie into social media networks in the future.
Areas covered at the moment include: Aspen, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Houston, Knoxville, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Sonoma, Tampa and Washington, D.C.
