ononemap Bought By dothomes
December 10, 2008 by Emma Sorensen · Leave a Comment
Map based UK property search engine ononemap.com has been bought by dothomes.co.uk.

The ononemap.com homepage now refers users to dothomes.co.uk, saying that the next generation of property search is “coming to a computer near you”.
News of the deal was also broken in a blog by renthusiast.com who says “details are emerging, however, Dothomes co-founder Douglas de Jager, promises we will be blessed with “beautiful technology” very very soon”.
This brings an end to speculation over ononemap.com’s closure and possible sale.
ononemap.com was established in August 2005 as a map based search engine for UK property. It was owned by OnOneMap Limited, a private company, with Philip Sheldrake heading it up as Managing Director. The website was both free-to-list and free-to-use, making any revenue through third party advertisements or Google ads.
dothomes.co.uk is a real estate search engine which covers the UK, South Africa and the US.

DotHomes

DotHomes is a real estate search engine which covers South Africa (dothomes.co.za) and the US (dothomes.com). Sales or rental search results link directly through to full property details on real estate agent’s own websites, at no cost to the agent.
DotHomes owned and ran a UK-based version of the search engine, dothomes.co.uk, until January 2010, when it was acquired by The Digital Property Group. The company also runs map-based UK property search engine ononemap.com.
DotHomes aims to be the “Google of real estate”. It offers an alternative to traditional directory websites for real estate search (who charge agents a fee to list properties) and the newer “mashup” websites (which index only the directory websites, rather than the more up-to-date property listings on the sourcing estate agent websites).
