MyNewPlace Names Gary Parkhurst as Vice President of Sales

MyNewPlace, one of the US’ largest apartment and home-rentals sites, has appointed Gary Parkhurst as its new vice president  of sales.  In this role, Mr. Parkhurst will provide strategic leadership to the sales team and facilitate new business in an effort to increase revenue by driving sales through the company’s core listing products on MyNewPlace.com.

“Gary’s track record, extensive experience and knowledge working with start-ups were key factors in adding him to our executive team,” said John Helm, founder and CEO of MyNewPlace. “His consultative sales approach and executive leadership are a great fit for MyNewPlace and our clients. Throughout his career, Mr. Parkhurst served in a variety of executive sales and marketing roles at a range of organizations.  Most recently, Parkhurst served as senior vice president for ELM Resources, a non-profit, mutual benefit corporation serving the student loan industry.  In his role, Mr. Parkhurst planned and executed a high-growth sales strategy which resulted in a 46 percent growth of the company’s customer base and an increase in profitability from ($1.4) million to more than $15.7 million. Additionally, he completed the restructuring of the overall sales, marketing and product development strategy which resulted in a significant market share growth.

Mr. Parkhurst also worked in a sales leadership role at Perfect Escapes, Brandvia, Age Wave Communications and United Advertising/Harmon. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from California State University, Chico and completed course work in strategic planning at the London School of Business and financial management from Cornell University.
