zoopla.co.uk has joined portals such as realtor.com, immobilienscout24.de and zillow.com in releasing a home search app for Android.

zoopla.co.uk says the new app displays “hundreds of thousands” of listings as well as free value estimates for 27 million UK homes. The app also includes an Augmented Reality search option, over 16 million house prices paid dating back to 1995, and local market data including average home values by area.

zoopla.co.uk adds that its iPhone app, which was released with similar functionality in July last year, saw 50,000 downloads during its first two weeks online.

“Our iPhone app has already become an essential tool for house hunters and property professionals alike,” says zoopla.co.uk CEO Alex Chesterman. “We have now brought this same experience to Android users, providing easy access to property listings and market information ‘on location’ as the perfect mobile resource for both property search and research.”

January has been a busy month for zoopla.co.uk so far, with its acquisition of houseprices.co.uk and a new marketing manager joining the team.

At the end of 2010, zoopla.co.uk raised £3.25 million in funding and told propertyportalwatch.com that its monthly unique visitor total had climbed to over 5 million.
