Beta Launch for New realtor.com

June 16, 2010 by Alice Allan

A new version of market leading US website realtor.com has just been officially launched in beta, offering new Realtor profile pages and a range of other features.

beta.realtor.com, which is currently being highlighted on the original realtor.com homepage, allows users to search a database of over 1 million Realtors by name, company name, location, designations and certifications, and active listings.

The website’s map search uses Bing Maps to display information such as listing price, estimated house values, nearby points of interest, and median income in the area. Users can also sort listings by a wide range of criteria, from the number of bedrooms and bathrooms to property status and features.

realtor.com officials told inman.com that the aim of the new website is to maintain realtor.com’s market leading position, as well as give consumers more information and help them find professionals to interpret it.

“I don’t view this as being competitive with a site like a John L. Scott or a redfin.com, but complementary,” realtor.com president Errol Samuelson is quoted as saying.

realtor.com announced the website relaunch in May, when parent company Move Inc reported another drop in revenue.
