Overall audience figures for UK property websites were up 10.4 percent in March compared to February according to Nielsen, and one website in particular is celebrating: zoopla.co.uk.

Following on from its recent claim to the “fastest growing” title – a claim echoed by The Digital Property Group – zoopla.co.uk has released Nielsen figures that show 28.8 percent month-on-month growth in March and rank the top four UK property websites as follows:

1. rightmove.co.uk: 3,190,000 unique visitors (up 2.8 percent from 3,104,000 in February)
2. zoopla.co.uk: 1,620,000 (up 28.8 percent from 1,258,000)
3. findaproperty.com: 1,502,000 (up 1 percent from 1,487,000)
4. primelocation.com: 1,232,000 (up 14.4 percent from 1,077,000)

These figures do differ from the March comScore figures quoted by zoopla.co.uk, which have it in third position with 1,553,000 unique visitors – an increase of 16.1 percent over the previous month. Those figures have The Digital Property Group’s findaproperty.com in second position with 1,983,000 unique visitors.

In its recent statement based on March figures from UKOM Nielsen, TDPG described its unique visitor numbers this way:

“TDPG is the fastest growing by attracting 463,000 absolute unique visitors, compared with 86,000 for rightmove.co.uk and 362,000 for zoopla.co.uk. Total traffic figures saw third place zoopla.co.uk at 1.1 million unique visitors behind TDPG despite the redirection of traffic from propertyfinder.com and thinkproperty.com. rightmove.co.uk is 434,000 ahead of TDPG, with the gap closing from 811,000 in February.”

TDPG said this boost in visitor numbers is the result of its recently renewed marketing partnership with McDonald’s. The company is also spending £13 million on a promotional campaign for its brands across March, April and May this year in an effort to put “further pressure on the number one portal position”.
