US online brokerage redfin.com has added its second location for the year and rolled out a number of new services for customers.
After the addition of Portland and most of Western Oregon in February, redfin.com has now added Phoenix, which it describes as “the graveyard of real estate brokers”. redfin.com’s blog post explains:
“Yes, the market is in rough shape. Yes, competition in Phoenix is fierce. But we can take it. redfin.com’s site will be, by far, the best real estate search site in Phoenix, if for no other reason than that we have data no one else does: beyond the comprehensive listing data we show about a home’s price history and days on market, redfin.com is the first to display photos and details of homes that recently sold.
In a market changing as fast as Phoenix, consumers will love getting near real-time updates on what’s selling and for how much, so we expect our traffic to take off there.”
Along with the addition of Phoenix, redfin.com has also started supporting tours for short sale properties and offering in-home consultations with its listing service.
redfin.com currently occupies 20th position on the Hitwise list of US real estate websites, and says another big launch is “in the books”.
