A free iPhone application has just been released by findaproperty.com. The portal is promoting the new app as the best in the UK market.

The new iPhone app allows users to display all sales and rental property listings on a map and browse directions to each property. It also syncs with a user’s findaproperty.com online account so searches on both the iPhone and computer are saved for later reference. The app remembers recent searches and viewed properties, and has an auto-complete function for location names.

According to findaproperty.com, we can expect to see a heavy marketing campaign promoting the app, with ads planned in Daily Mail and General Trust newspapers, Northcliffe regional titles, on iPhone user-targeted websites, and on the localpeople.co.uk network.

“We resisted the temptation of being the first to market, with the objective of being the very best within it,” stated Chris Boorman, findaproperty.com product manager. “The findaproperty.com search app is best-in-class and will undoubtedly improve the user experience of our home searchers, to the benefit our member agents.”

findaproperty.com parent company The Digital Property Group (TDPG) has had plenty of good news to report lately, including record unique visitors numbers of 215,000 at findaproperty.com on 18 January, along with 168,000 at primelocation.com the next day – another record total.

In fact, primelocation.com’s search index, which measures the numbers of UK-based searches for international property on the website, grew by 23 percent December 2009 compared to the previous month, and by 220 percent compared to December 2008.

findaproperty.com also released an average UK house price widget last week, which displays asking price data for both flats and houses in any UK town or county for either sales or rentals, and can be added to any website.
