trulia.com Celebrates 2009 Success
January 7, 2010 by Alice Allan
Following zillow.com’s reports of record traffic numbers in 2009, US real estate search engine trulia.com has released its own set of figures that claim visits are up by 45 percent.
According to the search engine, 2009 was its biggest year ever with a total of 62.3 million unique visitors. trulia.com says internal data has page views up 105 percent and property views up by over 130 percent.
Trulia Voices also doubled in terms of the number of consumer questions asked, and almost 1 million home buyer inquiries were sent to real estate agents throughout the year.
2009 certainly saw plenty of releases from trulia.com, including property comparison functionality, a price reduction tool, and an Augmented Reality mobile application.
The search engine ended its fourth year on a high, being named Best US Website in MetrixLab’s Website of the Year awards, and reaching sixth place in the Hitwise rankings of US real estate websites.
“Mobile and local information will be two areas of focus for the coming year,” explains trulia.com co-founder and CEO Pete Flint. “The world is becoming more mobile and real estate information on the go is a very natural combination. On the weekends, five to 10 percent of our overall traffic comes from mobile handsets. Deep local information, data and insights is also key to consumers interested in real estate and we will introduce more data and local knowledge during the next year.”
