rightmove.co.uk Adds Google Maps

rightmove.co.uk users are now able to view properties on a Google Map by clicking a link on each property’s detailed view page.

rightmove.co.uk says this is the first in what will be a series of mapping innovations created in association with Google. Over the next few months, another feature will be released allowing property hunters to see initial search results plotted out within their search area. “Additional exciting uses of Google Maps are also now in development,” the portal states.

“With this technology on their site, rightmove.co.uk will be able to provide property searchers with a faster, more accurate and more comprehensive mapping system to help them find that perfect home even more efficiently”, said Sanjay Patel, Geo Manager EMEA, Google Enterprise.

rightmove.co.uk commercial director Miles Shipside added:

“Being the largest specialist destination for home-hunters in the country, we are always looking to improve the home mover experience. Google provides clear and easy-to-view maps which will perfectly compliment rightmove.co.uk’s extensive level of detail about each property and suite of informative user guides, altogether making it even easier for buyers and sellers to research property on rightmove.co.uk.”

rightmove.co.uk states that its agreement with Google will make it one of the largest users of Google Maps in Europe. The portal has been using Google Maps in its member agents management and reporting suite, Rightmove Plus, since November 2009.
