realtor.com Releases its App

realtor.com, the official website of the US National Association of Realtors (NAR) and home to approximately 4 million listings, is the latest to release a home search application for iPhone users.

realtor.com has been running an iPhone-friendly version of its website since late 2007, but the portal has now recognised the desire for the slicker functionality iPhone applications offer.

realtor.com’s application covers all the standard bases: the ability to find nearby homes with your GPS, open house information, a map-based search, and a one-touch agent contact capability.

Of course, realtor.com are just one of many US real estate websites now offering iPhone applications. To stand out, realtor.com is emphasising the trustworthiness of its listing information and the fact that the application will offer “more homes for sale than any other real estate site in America”.

realtor.com has long held the top spot amongst US real estate websites. But will its iPhone application be as popular as zillow.com’s, which became the number one real estate application in the Apple App Store last year? We’ll be watching closely to find out.
