UK property search engine zoomf.com has upgraded to its sixth version and now offers new features for paid listings.

According to the zoomf.com blog, the new paid listings are agent branded and have more prominent contact details. A link to the Google Maps view has also been included, and distinguishing property features are highlighted in zoomf.com’s search results. Examples of these upgraded listings can be viewed here.

Trinity Mirror plc acquired zoomf.com in November 2008. Its users can search for property to buy and let across the UK, and search results typically link through to agent websites.

In a recent blog post, zoomf.com founder Mike Carter responded to the recent rumours surrounding the inclusion of property listings on Google Maps UK, arguing the move would benefit property portals:

“This is a good thing for property portals. Why? Because a better property experience on Google will only create more click-thrus to everyone’s websites. Google is about sending people OUT not keeping them IN. They aggregate the content and send valuable traffic out. Great stuff.”

Rumours of Google Maps adding more real estate listings to its UK and European pages have sparked some speculation on the future of property portals. The site seems to have been optimised to work on the iPhone. After the numbing Recession, the upgrading of a property search engine portends a revival of sorts.
