tepilo.com Adds Lettings, Partners

tepilo.com, a For Sale By Owner (FSBO) website created by UK TV presenter Sarah Beeny, now allows property owners to list their homes for rent.

The website was established in July this year, giving users the ability to search property listings as well as make enquiries and request viewings. tepilo.com is free-to-list and free for users.

Property hunters can now search for rental listings, and they can also access flat share listings through a search powered by spareroom.co.uk.

tepilo.com is currently being promoted through a Christmas display competition, and an email to subscribers explains that listings are also being promoted across partner websites such as Channel 4, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Sun and The Star. tepilo.com says an advertising sign printing service will be available soon.

At the time of the website’s launch, Sarah Beeny spoke to propertyportalwatch.com and explained her reasons for creating the website:

“Around three quarters of home buyers are using the internet to search online for properties online, many using popular property portals such as Rightmove and Globrix. But the majority, around 90%, still use an Estate Agent to sell their property (according to the Office of Fair Trading) even though this can be a costly process.

This is because there is a general perception held by the public that selling your home is daunting and incredibly complicated. Of course this isn’t the case at all.

By providing a simple to use platform, coupled with excellent advice and a step by step guide, we could help people through the process and dispel the myth that selling a home can be a minefield.

At the end of the day, we need to kick start the economy; buying and selling houses is a great start – so why not save some pennies in the process?”
