An increasing number of developers are using UK property search engine nestoria.co.uk’s application programming interface (API) to create iPhone applications for home hunters.

Since Iain McLean created the iProperty application back in July, nestoria.co.uk has seen three more developers make use of their API. Sten Hiedel has made UKProperty, a Google Maps-based search application that also allows users to search for nearby listings.

Fifty Eggs Ltd. has come up Locati, which combines property listings with information about the local area from sources such as Wikipedia.

Meanwhile, propertynearme.com has released a web-based application that finds nearby listings using the nestoria.co.uk API.

The nestoria.co.uk blog says we can expect “tweaks” to its service in the coming weeks. The search engine has also put out the call for developers to create an iPhone application using its average house price data.
