idealista.it Joins Layar Search Providers

Italian property portal idealista.it has released a home search application for Android and iPhone 3GS users using Layar’s augmented reality software.

As propertyportalwatch.com explained previously, Layar offers a view through the camera on the iPhone or Android phone supplemented by computer imagery and information, including real estate listings.

In using Layar, idealista.it’s application joins releases from the US based trulia.com, funda.nl in the Netherlands, meilleursagents.com in France and casa.sapo.pt in Portugal.

idealista.it’s statement goes on to say that its iPhone application, launched one month ago, was the first Italian iPhone application for house hunting. While its iPhone application allows users to find houses within a four kilometre radius, the Layar based application expands that radius to 25 kilometres.

idealista.it is a free-to-list portal, and says it currently has 56,893 listings.
