Move Inc. HQ Is On The Move
October 8, 2009 by Emma Sorensen

Move Inc., is looking to save around $1 million a year in rent by reducing the size of its headquarters in Westlake Village, California.
Move Inc. will now occupy just 76,000 square feet on two floors of the same building they used to lease 138,000 square feet in under the old agreement from the company’s growth days in 2000.
Move Inc. has signed a new seven year lease totalling around $2.2 million per annum, a considerable saving on the estimated $4 million per annum they were previously paying.
The company is quoted on Inman News as saying that the downsizing will not impact on staff numbers, with no layoffs planned.
The company currently employs the equivalent of just over 1,000 employees, down from a peak of 2,800 during the dotcom boom days of 2001.
Move Inc. is responsible for move.com as well as the official site of the National Association of Realtors®, realtor.com®, which receives more than 6.3 million monthly unique users.
