casa.sapo.pt Brings In Record Leads

Portuguese property portal casa.sapo.pt has set what it says is a new record, with 51,500 leads generated in September.

casa.sapo.pt is the leading property portal in the Portuguese market and part of the major media and telecom group in Portugal – Portugal Telecom.

The leads, generated by portal users, comprise all information, visit, search and offer requests sent to realtors and private owners via email, text messaging and webchat.

The portal reached a total of 423,471 leads sent to realtors and private owners between January and September 2009, which it says is a 12 percent increase year-on-year.

The portal’s visitor growth rate also increased by 18 percent year-on-year, averaging a monthly total of 973,209 visitors.

According to casa.sapo.pt, the increase in leads and visitors are due to the huge growth in internet property search by users looking to find a home as well as the increasing number of properties being advertised on the portal by both private owners and realtors.

casa.sapo.pt is the only real estate portal listed in Netscope, Portugal’s sole website ranking monthly report, conducted and audited by Marktest. According to the latest report, dated August 2009, casa.sapo.pt ranks number 32 in terms of visitors and number 11 for page views.

While casa.sapo.pt claims visitors from over 160 countries UK visitors rank third amongst foreign countries visiting the portal, with 12,000 visits every month.

The portal recently expanded its presence by launching casasapo.es in Spain, casa.sapo.cv in Cape Verde, casa.sapo.ao in Angola and casa.sapo.mz, in Mozambique. It is also working on adapting casa.sapo.pt for Android and iPhone.
