The Immobiliare.it Group has announced the launch of a new vertical site dedicated to the rental marketplace in Italy: affitti.it.

The company says that the financial crisis in Italy has lead to a significant reduction in property sales and for the second year running volumes are expected to decline by approximately 15%, leading to increased activity in the rental market.

Andrea Piccioni, one of the co-founders of the Immobiliare.it Group, said:

“With the launch of affitti.it, we wanted to create the most active online rental marketplace in Italy and to ensure we offer all the different types of rental agreements available from short term lettings to longer term rental. In fact, already from the first day of launch the site will contain hundreds of thousands of rental offers across all of Italy and covering all the possible price ranges. Over the last few months we have been listening carefully to agency needs and suggestions regarding the rental market and believe with this launch we can really provide a strong and effective offer to the market.”

“The site has all the most advanced functionalities and we will add and launch more new ones over time as we expect to get more feedback from agents and users to really create THE rental marketplace for Italians. With this launch, we expect to surpass a total of 4 million users per month to all the groups property sites, or over 15% of total Italian internet user base.”

The site will initially will be offered for free to all existing immobiliare.it customers and the new site will be promoted as part of the group’s “1 Billion Impressions” marketing campaign.

The Immobiliare.it Group now runs four real estate portals in Italy: The flagship immobiliare.it, web 2.0 focussed eurekasa.it, dedicated new build portal nuovecostruzioni.it and rentals site affitti.it.
