Another piece of news to come out of the recent Inman News Real Estate Connect Conference in San Francisco is that Move Inc. is looking to change realtor.com from a listings website to a “destination website” for all things property related.

Inman reports that the aim is to attract consumers through the entire “homeownership life cycle”, by adding value to the existing listing data.

Agents and consumers can expect to see some new innovations within 6 to 12 months, and the company is also working on new search technology and increasing its investment in content. The company has also integrated its Top Producer and realtor.com sales forces.

Berkowitz was quoted as saying that Move is looking for more innovative ways to connect Realtors and consumers, while maintaining the balance between serving consumers and advertisers.

The only comment I have is what happened to Realtor.com? The entire website moves VERY SLOWLY to the point of frustration in attempting to locate property in various cities. Whatever has been done to Realtor’s site, please UNDO it. Realtor is attempting to open too many windows (maps, ads) in an attempt to be all inclusive but it is NOT WORKING. Thanks.
