frontdoor.com, the online real estate information service of US cable network leader HGTV, has announced it will serve as a national real estate listing partner for a collection of more than 250 newspaper Web sites nationwide. The partnership will be offered as a component of the real estate platform solution by Gabriels Technology of New York.

This follows the news last month that the US listings and property information website’s extensive home sales listings and home-related content and video would be made available on local media websites through a strategic content partnership with the Internet Broadcasting network of sites.

FrontDoor kicks off the newspaper partnerships this week in San Francisco in conjunction with the Inman’s Real Estate Connect conference. Launching with media partners such as Cox Newspapers, Freedom Newspapers, Journal Register Company, and Southern Newspaper Group among others, FrontDoor’s 4 million listings will be available through premier newspaper sites such as The Boston Globe, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Minneapolis Star Tribune and The Denver Post, to name a few. The company says that future phases of the partnership will include the addition of even more expert real estate information in the form of articles and videos.

Vikki Neil, general manager of home brands for frontdoor.com’s parent company, Scripps Networks Digital, said:

“As real estate is an inherently local business, FrontDoor understands the importance of starting with a familiar, trusted source such as one’s local media in exploring the particulars of home buying and selling. With all the tough issues facing the housing market today, consumers also need the expertise of an industry-endorsed and credible source like HGTV’s FrontDoor.”

“Coupled with our recently announced content partnership with television station Web sites, this new deal greatly expands the FrontDoor footprint, giving millions more access to relevant real estate assistance when and where they’re looking.”

Gena Hamilton, director of advertising for Journal Register Company’s interactive division, said:

“Our chief aim is to give our users the best experience possible when they visit the online real estate section of our Web sites in the Philadelphia, Michigan, New York, Ohio and Connecticut areas. In creating that, we’ve leveraged FrontDoor’s superior content and national search capabilities with our own local data, making it the ideal resource for all things real estate.”

“We’re pleased by FrontDoor’s expansion of its property listing network,” added Alex Perriello, president and CEO of the Realogy Franchise Group, which includes leading brand names such as Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, CENTURY 21, Coldwell Banker, ERA and Sotheby’s International Realty. “FrontDoor’s marketing approach aligns well with our online listings distribution strategy of placing our brands’ property listings on the most relevant Web sites used by today’s homebuyers and sellers.”

“Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® has seen value in combining its local real estate expertise with the strong media presence of FrontDoor.com and the HGTV media consortium,” noted Pam O’Connor, LeadingRE president and CEO. “This latest alliance will give our 600+ brokerage firms even more online exposure for their listings through local newspaper portal sites around the country.”
