Another property portal aimed at private sellers, bethemiddleman.com, has launched in the UK.

As the name suggests, the portal cuts out what it calls “the middle man” – the real estate agent.

bethemiddleman.com spreads its net wide, with property to buy and rent, as well as a roommate finding service.

The company says:

“No matter where you are on the property ladder, whether you’re renting your first room or buying your third house, we don’t think you should have to give estate agents a penny! In fact, we don’t think you should have to give anyone a penny – which is why bethemiddleman.com is free to use.”

“bethemiddleman.com lets you market your property for free and can be used in conjunction with an estate agent. If you still want to use an estate agent you can, but there’s no harm in advertising on bethemiddleman.com too is there? If your estate agent under performs, bethemiddleman.com could help you out, while saving you thousands in agents fees.”

A press email lists its unique selling points as being the only private property portal aimed at the private housing market that connects the entire housing ladder, with no estate agents allowed to advertise or register.

The site is currently only accessible in beta test mode and is due to launch by the end of August, complete with twitter-inspired design.

bethemiddleman.com will face competition from a host of other For Sale By Owner (FSBO) style portals – like hablib.com and tepilo.com which both have high profile personalities behind them – that have appeared in the last year in the UK.
