zillow.com’s Market Bottom Widget
July 16, 2009 by Emma Sorensen

zillow.com have introduced a new, free widget designed to poll users on whether they believe the market has reached rock bottom yet, reflecting the global concern over current market conditions.
zillow.com write on the company’s blog:
“Home values have dropped across the nation and mortgage rates are still in the low 5’s, so this is a prime opportunity to poll visitors to your blog or Web site on how they feel about the future. By adding the new Zillow Market Bottom Poll widget, you can ask the question that’s on everyone’s minds: ‘When will the real estate market hit the bottom?’ “
The Market Bottom Poll widget can be easily installed on any website and offers free co-branding. So, if a user follows through to zillow.com the name, contact information and photo of the poll hoster stays at the top of the screen.
All poll results are shared across all installations, and the results are updated dynamically.
zillow.com’s other widgets include single-home value estimate, most expensive homes, newest homes on the market, and recently sold homes.
Widgets are a great way of promoting your content on someone else’s website. Sites such as Trulia, Zillow and Zoopla have all developed a range of widgets that can be quickly imbedded into someone elses website. Find out more by looking at PropertyPortalWatch.com’s Tech Showcase.

I think widgets are a nice way of bringing customer loyalty not forgetting reducing bounce own agents sites also – this could be seen as freebie depth product , zillow has definitely delivered the widget with “functionality” , what’s endearing about Zillows widget is, it is actually creating another social network within a social network. which is ingenius.why ? becuase it subliminally reinforces brand awareness. Hats off Well done Zillow
