US based rental property search engine, rentbits.com, has revealed it has experienced an increase in unique monthly visitors by more than 300 percent for the last 12 months.

“Due to the increase in demand for rentals, a clean search interface and a comprehensive database of rentals, rentbits has been experiencing substantial growth within the last 12 months.” said Dan Daugherty, president of rentbits.com’s parent company Rent Marketer, Inc.

In May 2009, rentbits.com says it attracted nearly 200,000 unique visitors according to compete.com, which is up from 45,000 one year earlier.

rentbits.com was founded by two ex-Googlers and is a product of Rent Marketer, Inc. It operates as a national rental search engine that actively crawls the web looking for rental listings. Its revenue is gained by using a cost-per-click/sponsored listings model, and it currently lists over 500,000 active apartment and homes available for rent.

In April rentbits.com introduced rental statistics pages to its website for over 4000 US cities.
