The Digital Property Group has revealed that it’s not only its flagship property portal, findaproperty.com, which has been breaking records. It’s sister website, market leading new homes specialist portal findanewhome.com, has also broken web traffic records this week.

We already reported on findaproperty.com’s record breaking Sunday, and it appears both findaproperty.com and findanewhome.com went on to set even more records for unique visitors on Monday 27 July, representing the highest daily total since analysis began for the company in 2005.

findaproperty.com welcomed a record 184,142 unique visitors, an increase of 6,108 unique visitors on the site’s previous best, recorded on 13 July 2009, and equating to 155 new visitors every minute.

Meanwhile findanewhome.com received 16,874 daily unique visitors, a figure 3.7 percent higher than the previous best set on 21 July 2009.

Jon Notley, The Digital Property Group’s Sales Director, said in a press release about the web traffic:

“Taking seasonality into account, it’s an exceptional amount of daily unique visitors. It’s the industry norm to see a drop in traffic in July and August, with January to March typically seeing a greater volume of home searchers. We’ve certainly bucked this trend and it’s a sign that consumer confidence is slowly improving…The positive sentiment in Q2 2009 appears not to have been deflated by news of redundancies and mixed economic predictions. We are by no means out of the woods but there are signs that the property market is heading in the right direction.”

Improved consumer confidence was also reported by findaproperty.com’s My Home Life Survey in which 44% of respondents believed that prices would stabilise in the next 6 months and just 26% predicted greater falls, with 19% believing that April 2009 was the lowest point for house price falls.

DPG are not alone in hoping the market is recovering. Several UK property portals are using data from their websites to argue that property market activity is increasing. propertyindex.com has reported a high level of activity, with the number of property enquiries rising steadily over the past four months, increasing by 15% between April and July, and the story is similar at market leader rightmove.co.uk which released a statement last week saying it had recorded its busiest ever week, with 134 million pages viewed during the week ending July 11th.
