Real Estate Commercial Selling Portals
July 7, 2009 by Emma Sorensen

Australia based Real Estate Commercial Pty Ltd have decided to sell their two commercial real estate property portals: realestatecommercial.com.au and primesite.com.au.
In a statement announcing the websites are for sale, managing Director, Russell Robertson, said:
“Our core business is in the residential real estate market through Housesonline Australia and our other associated residential websites where over the last 10 years we have built credibility and increased market share. Whilst we acknowledge that there are great opportunities in the commercial portal market, our Company lacks the human resources to deal in both markets.”
While primesite.com.au was only launched this month, since launching realestatecommercial.com.au late last year the site has received over 4,000 unique visitors each month and in excess of 200,000 hits per month. As of 1 July a private sale section was added to realestatecommercial.com.au.
Some 150+ of the major franchise brands, independent real estate agents and small groups are listing their properties on the websites. Agents are currently receiving free subscriptions and a monthly subscription fee of $165 will begin in 2010.
The commercial portals are competing against REA Group owned market leader, realcommercial.com.au, and number two ranked commercialrealestate.com.au.
The company had slated a projected launch into Asia for January 2010.
In addition to the two commercial portal sites, the company will also be selling the domain names: realestatecommercial.asia, realestatecommercial.co.uk, realestatecommercial.net.nz, realestatecommercial.net.au and primesite.net.au.
Anyone interested in the sale should contact direct any initial enquiries to: sales@realestatecommercial.com.au.

- Real Estate Added to Google Maps – What it Means for Australian Property Portals
In Australia and the US, Google has added properties for sale to its mapping site – maps.google.com. Users of Google Maps are now able to see a selection of homes for sale and rent plotted on the maps. These homes for sale seem to be sourced from Google Base – Google’s classifieds engine. It is free for anyone to upload a listing and this can be done through an online interface or through an XML data feed. The inclusion of property listings from Google Base onto Google Maps has some parts of the Australia real estate world abuzz with thoughts of the end of market leaders’ realestate.com.au and domain.com.au. However, while this launch is new and innovative in the Australian market, a lot has to fall in place before realestate.com.au and domain.com.au are truly affected by the “entry” of Google into the Australian real estate advertising scene....
