The Digital Property Group (DPG) has launched a recruitment drive and the latest addition to the team is an editorial manager for one the UK’s leading property portals, primelocation.com.

Claire Mitchell is a former assistant producer and journalist at the BBC, where she produced content for their lifestyle portals and for the BBC Four website. She has also worked at property magazine Country Living where she was instrumental in launching the website and also edited the property channel.

As editorial manager at primelocation.com, Claire will ensure a continuity of the existing editorial strategy including editing of the primelocation.com blogs, linking with the SEO team and managing a range of editorial projects including ‘how to guides’, producing podcasts and video content.

Mike O’Flynn, Head of Content at The Digital Property Group, said:

“We had some very impressive applicants for the position but Claire’s unique combination of online experience and property knowledge marked her out as the ideal person to engage with primelocation.com’s distinct audience, many of whom are on the higher rungs of the property/lifestyle ladder. Editorial is an important part of our online marketing strategy and covers a wide range of activities, from generating content appropriate to our audience to supporting our customers; and from managing social media to working with our SEO team. We are delighted to welcome a candidate of Claire’s calibre on-board and are confident that she will make a significant contribution to the development of the primelocation.com brand.”

DPG are not the first to take portal content seriously enough to appoint an editor – in February this year propertyfinder.com appointed journalist and editor Nigel Lewis as editor of its property portal’s content.

I did not know Country Living was a property magazine or that it had a property channel? The last time I saw it was very much a home interest/interiors magazine along the lines of Country Homes & Interiors

Of course http://www.countrylife.co.uk was launced in 1999 and has always had an editor and has always had a property channel. The current editor is Holly Kirkwood. Just wanted to make that clarification!
