US real estate website movoto.com has announced the expansion of its property listings to cover the state of Arizona, including the greater Phoenix metro area. The website states that it now lists over 37,000 homes for sale in Arizona.

movoto.com does not charge for its service, which allows users to search listings and connect with local agents when they are ready to buy. The website was founded in 2005, and has been steadily expanding its reach. The Fresno and Palm Springs areas of California were included in January this year, followed by several Florida cities in April.

In a press release, movoto.com CEO Henry Shao explained the aim of the website:

“In today’s dynamic home market, 1st time buyers have the opportunity to purchase homes for sale at rock bottom prices. However, the entry level market today is mostly short sales, foreclosures and bank-owned properties and it’s a huge advantage to have an experienced agent help navigate this unusual market. Movoto takes the guess work out of finding homes for sale and out of finding a talented, ethical real estate agent.”

movoto.com states that it gathers listings from online data resources relating to housing neighbourhoods along with local real estate databases. Users can search for properties that match certain house specifications and find information on neighbourhood demographics, crime statistics, local market housing data, and school evaluations.
