More Members, New Feature at proxio.com
July 14, 2009 by Alice Allan

International MLS and global referral network proxio.com has announced new partnerships with three US based multiple listing services, gaining 23,000 members for its ProxioPro network. The Hilton Head Island MLS in South Carolina, Regional MLS in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and the Realtor Association of Miami Dade County, Florida, all joined the network at the end of last month.
Martha Bullman, CEO of the Realtor Association of Miami-Dade County, was quoted as saying:
“Our members understand the large opportunity that exists in international real estate today, however they do not have the time or resources to travel extensively. Proxio has removed this roadblock and enables us to connect our members to thousands of real estate professional around the world to forge lasting, lucrative business relationships.”
Agents can join ProxioPro for free, but must upgrade to paid subscription packages to display their own listings and contact other members. A Proxio Groups feature was also added to the service in mid-June, allowing ProxioPro members to collaborate through specialist communities.
proxio.com has also announced a competition, to be held in conjunction with Inman News, that will search for the “most visible professionals” in real estate. The results will be announced at the end of this month.
In an interview with heraldnet.com, proxio.com co-founder and CEO Janet Case explained that the process of buying a property in France was the inspiration for the website: “I found it to be a very difficult process with no MLS or shared information between agencies. There were serious market inefficiencies and no system that combined inventory and networking for agents.”
proxio.com was recently included in a list of finalists for the 2009 Inman Innovator Awards under the “most innovative web service” category. The website states that it has over 4,400 agencies across 65 countries and an inventory of over 110,000 listings.
