DPG Recruits to Beat rightmove.co.uk

The Digital Property Group (DPG), owner of four UK property portals, findaproperty.com, primelocation.com, homesandproperty.co.uk and findanewhome.com, has launched a recruitment drive.

On its website, DPG is currently recruiting for web designers for both findaproperty.com and primelocation.com, five sales positions, three marketing positions, two tech positions, a position in new product development and several other finance and customer services related roles.

The roles will be split between the company’s London and Brighton offices.

The Negotiator quotes the group’s CEO, Mark Milner, as saying the recruitment drive is a way of catching up to market leader rightmove.co.uk:

“We have been steadily closing the gap between ourselves and Rightmove over the past year. In fact, we are the only one of the top three property portal publishers to have recorded positive year-on-year growth according to independent audience research. Recruiting the right individuals will assist us in further closing the gap.”

The recruitment drive follows several recent appointments at DPG. Matt Cohan, previously a consultant, is the new head of product management. Alan Whiteley, who has previously worked at lastminute.com and AOL, is the newly appointed head of software development. Sarah Bowerman has joined as talent manager – she previously worked at yahoo.com. And DPG have also appointed a new group infrastructure manager, Shaun Bolton, who previously worked at Reuters and Dow Jones.
