Owen Burns Joins whitehotproperty.com
June 15, 2009 by Emma Sorensen

Controversial new UK website whitehotproperty.com has appointed Owen Burns as business development director.
Burns joins whitehotproperty.com after a stint at casa.it as commercial director. Before this he worked with online training organisation, The Academy, where he was managing director. Prior to this he held senior sales positions with the REA Group both in their Australian operations and later in the UK where he worked on propertyfinder.com.
whitehotproperty.com has relationships with dozens of major home builders and lenders to sell their part-exchange and repossession properties directly to home buyers, in typically cheaper, faster sales. It defines a “White Hot Property” as one which is chain-free and realistically priced.
The website has created controversy with the thousand or so agents who are part of the movewithus.co.uk network, the company which owns whitehotproperty.com, many of whom see the new website as bypassing them.
Owen Burns was quoted in Estate Agent Today as saying he was looking forward to working with estate agents and delivering value in his new role with the company:
“I am thrilled to join whitehotproperty and hope to give the business a clear focus. Making the whitehot proposition relevant to the consumer will be one of my first main tasks. I will be working with what is already an incredibly strong team and I am really looking forward to the challenge.”

Good hire.
Emma,
The time-line in the article does not make sense. It is not possible to establish prropertyfinder.com, after starting at the REA Group. From memory propertyfinder.com was established in the 90’s…and Owen joined propertyfinder.com after its acquisition by the REA Group.
Perhaps the press release they provided you was ambiguous or flattering in nature.

Some good broad sales experience – albeit on an average of 12 months with an employer at a time.
I feel this is a great strategic move by whitehot as Owen has the correct skill set to advance this new commercial oppportunity
Good Luck Owen and White hot
