domain.com.au Online Rental Applications
June 22, 2009 by Emma Sorensen

Australia’s number two property portal, Fairfax owned domain.com.au, has introduced a new function which allows users to put in rental applications online, via the domain.com.au website.
The company explained the new functionality in an email to domain.com.au users:
“We know that finding the ideal rental property can get frustrating for some. Often there’s just not enough hours in the day to chase up paperwork, fill it in and get it to a real estate agent in time. So from now on, we’re making it a whole lot easier for you! We’re excited to announce the introduction of Online Rental Applications on domain.com.au.”
Rental listings details pages will be accompanied by a button saying ‘apply for this property’ with users able to apply for a single property or multiple properties at the one time.
Users will be required to complete an online application form (including the standard application questions on employment status, income, current residence, contacts, referees, etc) and submit the application via the domain.com.au website to the Agent/advertiser for consideration.
domain.com.au says that all information is completely secure and users can remove their details at any time. The online tenancy application system is powered by 1FORM.
domain.com.au and REA Group owned market leader, realestate.com.au, seem to be in something of a functionality competition at the moment, with the past few months being dominated by upgrades and improvements to their websites as they attempt to gain an edge over one another.
