Webware 100 Award Winners Announced

The winners of the Webware 100 Awards have been announced, with US real estate marketplace zillow.com, US brokerage firm ziprealty.com and craigslist.com included amongst the winners in the “commerce” category.

US property search engine trulia.com and classifieds website oodle.com were both included as finalists, but missed out on a place in the final top 100 list.

The annual competition allows Webware users to vote for their favourite Web 2.0 applications. Over 5,000 web services were entered, with the Webware editors then narrowing the list down to the top 300.

This year, just under 630,000 votes were cast, compared with over 1.9 million for the 2008 awards. There are 10 categories, and an 11th category for editor’s picks.

zillow.com and craigslist.com also won in last year’s commerce category. Other commerce category winners for 2009 included amazon.com, elance.com, etsy.com, eventbrite.com, PayPal, woot.com, and zocdoc.com.
