getanoffer.co.uk Aims for “Serious Buyers”
May 28, 2009 by Alice Allan

UK website getanoffer.co.uk markets itself as “the property portal for motivated sellers and serious buyers only”. The subscription based website mainly targets private sellers, but is also open to agents who need to sell a client’s property quickly. Most properties on the website are sold for around 10 to 12 percent below market value.
Along with information about Home Information Packs, which are required of UK sellers, getanoffer.co.uk also provides private sellers with information on how to list their properties on the website if they are already working with an agent.
Managing director Simon Taylor told propertyportalwatch.com:
“So many sellers seem to have their head stuck in the sand when it comes to realistic pricing and estate agents aren’t much better. In fact, trying to find a deal on a large portal such as Rightmove or in the estate agent’s window is akin searching for a needle in a haystack.
Therefore, ‘switched on’ buyers are finding our website refreshing. It allows them to cut out the unrealistic sellers and deal only with the sellers in touch with reality. We are even noticing buyers reconsidering their search area after being presented with a great deal elsewhere.
And we don’t see the point in sellers receiving interest from ‘buyers with catches.’ This is why we ask a potential buyer important questions such as ‘Have you sold your own property and do you have your finance in place?’ when they wish to make contact. This prevents our sellers from receiving interest from time wasters.”
The website was launched in October 2008 and currently has over 700 properties listed. Taylor says he adds around 15 listings per day, and removes 7 as a result of sales.
