zillow.com’s First TV Ad

zillow.com is featuring in a national US TV advertisement. The thing is, they didn’t ask for it, or even have to have to pay a cent.

So how did the online real estate marketplace get so lucky? On their blog the company explains:

“How do you get national prime time TV exposure without shelling out millions of $$ for an ad campaign?

You hope a large national brand decides to include you in their ad campaign!

We were thrilled when Sprint asked our permission to include Zillow in the latest installment of their ubiquitous “Now Network” ad campaign (umm… yes you have our permission). The spot started airing Monday night, and you can see it during most of the big prime time shows. Or you can just watch it here…”

    On Friday, we drew attention to zillow.com’s announcement, based on comScore figures, that it had received more unique visitors in November than realtor.com. Now, zillow.com has retracted its statement, saying the comScore data may not be correct. “After discussions with comScore, it appears that the comScore data we cite below may be unreliable and it includes a different approach to Zillow’s measurement than other sites,” zillow.com’s updated blog post explains....

  5. New Search Options at zillow.com

    US real estate marketplace zillow.com has just announced a “faster and more streamlined” search experience for its users, allowing them to constrain search results by zip code or city. The new search capability keeps the results displayed limited to the suburb a house hunter is interested in, cutting out results from neighbouring suburbs....
