New Features at homehound.com.au

Australian property portal homehound.com.au has upgraded its website to include a number of new features. The website now has share accommodation listings, a finance centre with mortgage comparisons and quotes, “Walk Scores” for properties, and listing information via free SMS.

homehound.com.au is also offering prospective tenants the ability to lodge rental applications online. Basic online applications are free, but there is an option to upgrade to “VIP” applications, which cost $15 and over.

In July 2008, homehound.com.au was ranked fourth in a Nielsen Netratings list of Australian residential property portals. This represents approximately 12% of the traffic to the market leading realestate.com.au.

realestate.com.au has more listing categories than homehound.com.au along with many similar features, but does not offer the option to apply for tenancy online. However, homehound.com.au’s online tenancy applications may be complicated by agents’ preference for tenants to view a property before applying.
