North American print and online real estate publisher Network Communications, Inc. (NCI) has announced a partnership with vertical search platform vast.com. Through the partnership, vast.com will publish the online listings of NCI websites realestatebook.com and apartmentfinder.com on its classifieds aggregate website.

NCI’s real estate division president, Scott Dixon, outlines the advantages of the partnership:

“As the leading vertical search platform hosting the largest inventory of real estate listings on the web, vast.com is a great fit with our online listings distribution strategy which expands exposure and high-quality leads for our advertisers to home shoppers who are highly likely to buy a property or rent an apartment.”

NCI owned realestatebook.com property portal covers home sales in the US, Canada, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos Islands and the US Virgin Islands, while apartmentfinder.com is a US based portal that includes rental apartments as well as college and military base apartments.

vast.com was launched in 2005 by former epinions.com executive Kevin Laws. The website claims to offer “a better consumer experience with sub-second search times, instant narrowing by characteristic and robust data analytics to facilitate comparison-shopping.” Along with real estate listings, its database of online classifieds includes cars, jobs, travel, tickets and pets.

The announcement follows NCI’s January 2009 agreement with everymove.com to feed NCI’s residential resale, new construction and apartment rental listings to the website. NCI’s online distribution network now includes partner sites such as bobvila.com, condo.com, frontdoor.com, Google Base, Home Gain, House Locator, Home Pages, homescape.com, Live Deal, MSN Sympatico, NYTimes/Real Estate, oodle.com, realtytrac.com, retirementhomes.com, trulia.com, Wall Street Journal, yahoo.com and zillow.com.
