The need to repeat gumtree.com searches for real estate advertisements in the UK can now be bypassed through search engine ilumu.com.

Usually, gumtree.com users have to do an individual search for each location they are interested in, as the website is divided by UK locations. Through ilumu.com, users can now search across all of the UK, or refine their search by region.

An ilumu.com search for “real estate”, for example, will bring up gumtree.com real estate advertisements from all UK locations. Following one of these links takes users to the region specific gumtree.com webpage.

gumtree.com does provide a “change city” option to repeat a search for a different location, however the ilumu.com involves fewer steps and allows users to search across the whole of the UK or by region, rather than by city name only.

ilumu.com also links to two real estate search websites: easyroomate.com, which searches for share accommodation across 29 countries, and UK property search engine bathtab.co.uk.

gumtree.com currently has over 158,000 property listings online, and is the UK’s biggest website for local community classifieds including flat share, flat rentals and jobs.

gumtree.com was started in March 2000 as a local London classified ads and community site, designed to connect people who were either planning to move, or had just arrived in the city, and needed help getting started with accommodation, employment and meeting new people.
