Foreclosure Listings Still Popular

The latest Hitwise figures for February 2009 in the US for real estate have been announced.

27.42% of all visits went to the top 10 websites on the list.

realtor.com continues to have strong lead with 6.97% market share, compared to Yahoo! Real Estate with a 4.38% market share at number 2.

Once again the top 4 rankings remain unchanged. Jostling for the top 10 positions starts at number 5 with remax.com rising two places. rent.com dropped to number 6 while hud.gov rose to number 7, and homegain.com dropped two places to number 8. servicemagic.com dropped back one place to number 9 and trulia.com remained steady at number 10.

The top ten websites in terms of visits were:

2. realestate.yahoo.com
3. zillow.com
4. ziprealty.com
5. remax.com
6. rent.com
7. hud.gov
8. homegain.com
9. servicemagic.com
10. trulia.com

homes.com has jumped one place to number 11.

Like January’s figures, some of the biggest movers in the Top 20 were in foreclosure listings websites: foreclosurestore.com moved up five positions to number 12 and foreclosure.com was up three places to number 13.

Hitwise say the average visit duration for visits to the online “Business and Finance – Real Estate” industry was 12 minutes, 7 seconds for the month of February, 2009. This is a minimal decrease from last months average visit duration of 12 minutes, 14 seconds.

“Realtor” was still the leading search term, “real estate” is 4th, with “foreclosures” coming 26th.

November was an interesting month according to Hitwise, with a good deal of movement throughout the top 10. While ziprealty.com held steady at number four, both rent.com and trulia.com moved up one position to take out number five and six respectively. realtor.com still holds the number one spot....

    The Hitwise rankings for January show no change in the top three US real estate websites. realtor.com remains in the lead, followed by realestate.yahoo.com, with zillow.com in third place. rent.com, which was in sixth place in October and fifth for the previous two months, is now number four on the list. This bumps ziprealty.com out of its long-held number four spot....
