realtor.com Still On Top

Of the 3,194 real estate websites Hitwise tracked in November realtor.com came out number one in terms of US market share, retaining its top dog status.

The Hitwise top 10 was made up of:

1. realtor.com
2. realestate.yahoo.com
3. zillow.com
4. ziprealty.com
5. rent.com
6. remax.com
7. homegain.com
8. servicemagic.com
9. hud.gov
10. realtytrac.com

trulia.com just missed out, coming in at 11, followed by apartments.com and homes.com at 12 and 13. realestate.msn.com was 15th, and mynewplace.com was 16th.

loopnet.com retained its status as number one in commercial real estate, making 19th place overall.

realtor.com not only cames out number one in terms of market share, but “realtor.com” was still the most popular search term.

Although it retains its leading status, interestingly realtor.com had a market share of 6.43 percent in November, a drop from the 7.68 percent share it held in October.

Recently revamped Yahoo! Real Estate seems to be gaining on realtor.com, with its market share increasing slightly to 4.64 percent.

Joining the overall top 100 in November was recently renamed portal enormo.com (formerly properazzi.com) and leaving the group was apartmentfinder.com.

1. realtor.com Increases Market Lead

   Of the 3,122 real estate websites Hitwise tracked in December, sampling 10 million US Internet users, realtor.com ended last year at number one in terms of US market share....

2. zillow.com Moves Up Hitwise List

   For the first time in more than a year, Hitwise has recorded a change amongst the top four US real estate websites. The November rankings have zillow.com up one position to second place, replacing realestate.yahoo.com. November was an interesting month according to Hitwise, with a good deal of movement throughout the top 10. While ziprealty.com held steady at number four, both rent.com and trulia.com moved up one position to take out number five and six respectively. realtor.com still holds the number one spot....

3. realestate.com Enters Hitwise Top 20

   Hitwise have released their March figures for real estate websites in the US and the results show very little movement on the list overall....

4. Hitwise: zillow.com in Second Place

   zillow.com has edged into second place on the Hitwise list of top US real estate websites with a 3.43 percent market share over realestate.yahoo.com's 3.40 percent. The only other change amongst the top 10 was realestate.msn.com switching places with servicemagic.com to take out eighth position. servicemagic.com fell from sixth to eighth position last month....

5. Three Newcomers to Hitwise Top 20

   Hitwise have released their April figures for real estate websites in the US and the results show more movement in the top 20 than in previous months this year....
