Yahoo! Real Estate on the Rise

November 19, 2008 by Emma Sorensen

Yahoo! Real Estate is forging ahead in the US, with visitor numbers and data feeds on the increase.

Yahoo! Real Estate received 5.1 million unique visitors in September (comScore Media Metrix) and its database includes more than 4 million properties. The entire Yahoo! network is one of the most trafficked internet destinations worldwide, coming in number two overall according to comScore, second only to Google.

According to a RISmedia report, more than 140 franchisors, brokers, multiple listings services (MLSs) and other listing services now participate in Yahoo! Real Estate’s listing syndication program. The syndication program allows participants to market property listings to millions of online home buyers for free.

Yahoo! Real Estate has also introduced several new product initiatives and upgrades, including a beta website, and an exclusive deal with homesandland.com, and continues to receive listings from Threewide/ListHub and Point2.

Steve Schultz, senior director of Yahoo! Real Estate, was quoted on RISmedia this week saying:

“Yahoo! is a brand that consumers trust to provide unbiased information with no sales pressure. Yahoo! Real Estate is committed to working closely with the industry to promote an open exchange of real estate listings information and to provide brokers, MLSs and agents with the greatest opportunity to attract home buyers to their listings.”
