domain.com.au Does Distribution Deal with ebay.com.au
October 20, 2008 by Simon Baker
Australia’s number 2 site, domain.com.au has just completed a content distribution deal with ebay.com.au that sees the launch of a new real estate section on ebay - ebay.domain.com.au.
The new site will be linked from the home page of ebay and expose the new site to ebay’s 5.4 million unique visitors per month.
What this means is that anyone who clicks on the real estate link on ebay.com.au will see the listings from agents advertising on domain.com.au presented on a co-branded site.
While this is good news for domain and will help boost traffic to their listings, it still wont close the large gap between itself and market leader, realestate.com.au. This gap currently stands at almost 2m unique visitors each month.
The interesting question is why didnt realestate.com.au make a bid for the content distribution deal. Perhaps there is already a strong overlap in the customer base and therefore it doesnt make sense for them to bid for the deal or they dont believe that they need the extra traffic to their advertisers’ content.

Why would ANYONE enter any deal with ebay? ebay has only shown itself to be a very deceitful, greedy company, which shows nothing but contempt for all others. Anyone niave enough to align themselves with ebay is only tying their boats to a sinking ship.
PLEASE see the petition to remove John Donahoe as ebay’s CEO by doing an internet search of:

I am a huge EBAY fan. The envy of the world with its huge deep database of just about every demographic. Home buyers (you bet), they have already proven they can sell cars. The CareerOne deal and Craigs list deal make them a threat to job portals as well. Go EBay.
